The doctors of the association Bambini Cardiopatici nel Mondo are members of the medical profession. Although it must seem obvious to you, it is necessary to be aware of the fact that the medical profession has an original aim: to bring relief to the sick, to their families, to the children.
We always come back to the original intentions of our mission.
We need to transmit our knowledge and experience to others, to colleagues and to those who work side by side with us on the wards of the hospitals. We will always be the teachers that pass on all that we know.
One day, in an operating theatre, Amadu, a 4 year old Algerian boy, was undergoing an operation that was still not complete after 8 hours of surgery. His heart stopped beating. Only Alessandro Frigiola continued, a little more, a little more and still a little more, until that little heart started to beat again and Amadu was saved. Our profession demands that we never give up.
